In Capital Laundry, we consider that textiles are fabric products that contact people directly or indirectly on a daily basis. Contaminated textiles are known to be a source of substantial numbers of pathogenic microorganisms. However, adherence to high-quality standards and compliance with the mandated safety requirements are effective in keeping the risk of actual disease transmission between people negligible. This exemplifies the importance of the entire laundering process to render textiles safe and suitable for reuse. The key elements in the laundering process include water temperature, type of detergents, disinfectant, rinsing, and finishing. The use of a defined and effective laundering process based on the parameters which are established in the industry and supported by national, local, and international standards in the field of laundering are essential for the production of hygienically clean textiles.

Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to develop topmost quality criteria for the production and reprocessing of hygienically clean reusable textiles for use at all levels of Health care facilities. This standard describes procedures for processing of used health care laundry starting from receiving it until transport the processed linen back to clients.
Compliance to Capital Laundry Standard
Compliance with this standard is assessed based on microbial (bacteriological) testing, documentation of laundry best management practices, facility inspections and clients feedback.
